How do we address ground water and drainage issues?

There are main 3 techniques we use for redirecting excess water away from the swimpond site. We often need to reduce hydrostatic pressure beneath the butyl rubber lining to avoid the lining bubbling or ballooning upwards.

Draining crates beneath the liner are often specified in the design with pipework using gravity to drain water to a soak away area

If gravity cannot be used to take excess water downwards, sump pumps are an additional option that can be employed. These can either run continuously or only when ground water levels are high and additional equipment is required.

Depending on the type of soil in your garden, you may have an issue with surface water. We can add a ring trench around the swimpond to stop any surface water running into the swim area and disrupting the balance of the swim water.
